Here’s How We Got Started…
We decided to build ArborArts.com because—like you—we wanted a unique and special way to display our family tree in our home. And, we wanted a creative and personalized gift to give to our extended family.
Our idea for the company that you see represented in this website began when we set out to find the perfect solution for displaying our family tree.
You see, at one point we lived in Nevada, which separated us for many years from our New England relatives. During the move West as we were unpacking boxes and looking for ways to bring memories of our family into our Nevada home, we came across a family heirloom…a detailed document of our family’s history.
It so happened that long before researching your family’s ancestry was as easy as a click-of-a-mouse, Nancy’s Auntie Barbara had painstakingly handwritten generations of family lineage onto an old piece of paper. The roots traced back to the Revolutionary War. What a discovery! Then it hit us. Why not take our family history and display it on our wall? What a great way to preserve our heritage and to decorate our “home away from home.”
After searching for family tree solutions online, we found some options but nothing that combined the ease-of-use of the Internet with an original design. What’s more, when it came to finding artwork to match the styling of our home, we ran into a dead end.
So like our pioneering forefathers, we decided to take matters into our own hands. It was time to set new standards and expectations for this emerging revitalization of a very traditional concept, the family tree. When we returned to New England, we choose to forge ahead and create our own company. And, thus, ArborArts.com was born!
